Jack Hewitt joined Versata, Inc. in 1995 as Vice President of Services
and CFO. He became President and CEO in 1997. Mr. Hewitt has an
extensive operating and financial background. Before joining Versata,
Mr. Hewitt served in several executive positions with TRW Financial
Systems (TFS), a $100 million systems integration and reengineering
division of TRW. As Vice President of Systems Engineering and
Integration at TFS, he had full operational responsibility for complex
systems integration projects, including managing engineering,
integration, project management, customer service and technical sales
support, with a staff of more than 400 engineers. While at TFS, he
supervised large integration projects for Pepsi, Bank of America, J.C.
Penney, American Express, New York Life, Amoco, and the US Post Office.
Mr. Hewitt also developed the TFS European business to $40 million in
three years, supervising projects at the Bankeness BetalingSentral in
Norway, INGBank and the BankGiro Centrale in the Netherlands, and the
Danish GiroBank. Prior to his work at TFS, Mr. Hewitt was the Chief
Operating Officer of a Warren-King Energy Company (1981-82). Mr. Hewitt
served as CFO (Under Secretary level) for the United States Department
of Energy (1979-81), where he was responsible for a $12 billion budget
and 20,000 employees. He was Assistant Secretary for Financial
Management for the USAF (1977-79), and Vice President, Chase Manhattan
Bank (1971-77). Mr. Hewitt also served as a military space systems
project officer in the USAF (1965-71). Mr. Hewitt received a Master of
Business Administration in Production Management from the University of
California Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Management from the USAF Academy, where he was graduated with
