IZAAK L.G. VAN MELLE is the grandson of the founder of Van Melle NV. He
joined Van Melle in 1969 and after passing through several functions
within the company he succeeded his father as President in 1975. Under
the leadership of Izaak Van Melle, the company changed from a
traditional family-owned business into a dynamic, internationally
operating confectionery group. His activities as President of Van Melle
are especially focused on the development and safeguarding of the
international Mission Statement, Group Vision, objectives and strategies
of the company, in which people and environment play a central role.
Before Izaak Van Melle joined Van Melle he worked for a period of two
years at Mobil Oil Netherlands. In 1967 he graduated in Business
Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and in
1975 he received the PMD-certificate at the Harvard Business School. Profile
