INVESTOR RELATIONS FOR SMALL CAP COMPANIES: HOWARD ZAR – PORTER NOVELLI

HOWARD ZAR is the Executive Vice President and head of Investor Relations in Porter Novelli's Corporate Practice. The Investor Relations practice is responsible for developing a wide range of strategic programs aimed at enhancing the shareholder value of publicly traded companies. It has significant past experience in pre-public companies, software, health care, biotech, basic industry and major retailers. The practices current clients comprise a broad group of companies including Amdocs, Ampal, Dana and Watson Pharmaceutical. Mr. Zar has nearly 14 years of experience in corporate finance and investor relations. Prior to joining Porter Novelli, he was a Group Director at Morgen-Walke Associates, a New York-based investor relations partnership. His clients included Donna Karan, Movado, Guess, Cybex and Marker. Before that, he worked as a Market Intelligence Specialist in the New York office of The Financial Relations Board. Mr. Zar brings a unique perspective to his practice of investor relations, having worked as an investment banker in the Merrill Lynch Corporate Finance department from 1985 to 1991. He was involved in numerous transactions including public equity offerings and mergers and acquisitions. He also worked on the initial public offering for Office Depot, the first successful equity transaction by any investment bank following the stock market crash of 1987. Mr. Zar started his career as the youngest art auctioneer at Sotheby's. He is a graduate of Princeton University with a BA cum laude in English Literature.
