INVESTING IN REITs: JACK MCALLISTER – NAREIT

Jack McAllister is vice president for institutional investment affairs for The National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). NAREIT is the national, non-profit trade association of real estate investment trusts (REITs) and publicly traded real estate companies. In that capacity, Mr. McAllister serves as an advocate for the REIT and publicly traded real estate industry among institutional investors, including pension and 401(k) plan sponsors, endowments and foundations. Before joining NAREIT in August 2000, Mr. McAllister was an Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager at the UMWA (United Mine Workers of America) Health and Retirement Funds, where he was responsible for overseeing the investment and management of $700 million of institutional real estate. He has extensive experience in all aspects of investment management services for large defined benefit trusts.
