HENRY D. SAHAKIAN is the Chairman, President and CEO of Uni-Marts, Inc.
Mr. Sahakian founded Uni-Marts, Inc. in 1972 as a division of Unico
Corporation, which he also founded in 1962 in State College,
Pennsylvania. Unico Corporation is a real estate company that has
developed numerous commercial and residential projects throughout
Pennsylvania. In 1986, Uni-Marts, Inc. spun off from Unico and became a
publicly held company. Its common stock is traded on the American Stock
Exchange under the symbol UNI. Uni-Marts, Inc. is a leading convenience
store operator in the mid-Atlantic region. The company also operates
discount tobacco stores under the name of Choice Cigarette Discount
Outlet. The company currently has 298 convenience stores and Choice
Cigarette Discount Outlets in Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware,
Virginia, and Maryland. Self-service gasoline is sold at over 237 of
these locations. Mr. Sahakian is Chairman of the Unico Corporation and a
Board member of HFL Corporation. He is a member of the Board of Trustees
of Lycoming College and a member of the CEO Group of Centre County.
Additionally, Mr. Sahakian was a member of the Pennsylvania State
University National Development Committee and served on its National
Campaign Executive Committee. He was Chairman of the Centre County
Community Foundation, Vice Chair of the Chamber of Business and Industry
of Centre County, and served on the Board of Mellon Bank's Central
Region. Over the years, he has also served on the Boards of various
