HENRY F. BLISSENBACH, PharmD, is a graduate of the University of
Minnesota College of Pharmacy. He received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota in 1970. After two
years of hospital pharmacy practice, he returned to the University of
Minnesota to receive his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree in 1974. Dr.
Blissenbach is currently employed by Chronimed, Inc., as Chairman,
President, and Chief Executive Officer. His responsibilities include
directing all of Chronimed's operating businesses. He formerly served as
President, Diversified Pharmaceutical Services, one of the nation's
largest pharmacy benefit management companies, owned by SmithKline
Beecham Pharmaceuticals. He is a member of the American Society of
Hospital Pharmacists, American Pharmacy Association, the American
College of Clinical Pharmacy, as well as various other pharmaceutical
organizations. Dr. Blissenbach was one of the founding fathers of the
Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. He has served as Chairman of the ASHP
Task Force on HMO Pharmacists, and is Past President of the Minnesota
Society of Hospital Pharmacists. He has been a member of the Board of
Directors of the Minnesota State Pharmaceutical Association, and has
been active with the American Cancer Society, having served as a member
of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Division. He currently serves
on the Board of Directors for Chronimed, Inc., Ligand Pharmaceuticals,
