Fred Davenport Jr. – Ppd Inc (ppdi)

FRED B. DAVENPORT, JR., is President and Secretary of PPD, Inc. Mr. Davenport joined PPD as General Counsel in December 1996, was promoted to Executive Vice President in February 2000 and named President in January 2002. He oversees strategic development, global planning, quality management, legal, information technology, human resources and facilities, as well as Europe and Asia clinical operations. Prior to joining PPD, Mr. Davenport was a Partner in the law firm of Murchison, Taylor and Gibson, L.L.P., which he joined in 1977. His practice areas included taxation law, estate planning law, corporations law and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Davenport served as a member of the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington's Cameron School of Business from 1982 to 1991. He holds Bachelor of Arts, Master of Business Administration and Law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of Phi Eta Signa and Phi Beta Kappa. Profile
