James P. Rigas – Hyperion Telecommunications Inc (hypt)

JAMES P. RIGAS serves as Executive vice President of Strategic Planning at Adelphia. He joined Adelphia in 1986 after serving for two years as a consultant with Bain & Co., a management consulting firm. A high honor student and standout athlete in high school. Mr. Rigas graduated from Harvard University (magna cum laude) in 1980 and received a Juris Doctor degree and a Master's degree in Economics from Stanford University in 1984. While serving in a management role for engineering, marketing, customer service and other aspects of Adelphia's business, he has also spearheaded the company's expansion into new lines of business. He is Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Hyperion Telecommunications Inc. and Adelphia subsidiary that has become a leading competitive local exchange carrier. He has also been instrumental in the development of Adelphia's Power Link (Internet access). Digital Cable, and PageTime (personal paging) services, as well as other products that have established Adelphia as a full-service telecommunications provider.
