Ian Mcbeath – Inflazyme Pharmaceuticals (izp.to)

IAN MCBEATH is President and Chief Executive Officer of Inflazyme Pharmaceuticals Ltd, since May 1998. Prior to that he was a founding Director and Chief Executive for BioVex Limited, a UK- based company developing gene therapy products. Mr. McBeath has almost 30 years' experience at senior levels in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in the US and Europe. In the pharmaceutical industry he has held senior executive positions with three major 'blue chip' companies: Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline), Johnson & Johnson, and ICI Pharmaceuticals (now AstraZeneca). He has previously been President and CEO of two UK biopharmaceutical companies and established and ran the European operations for a San Diego-based company. He is currently a member of the Premier's Technology Council, a committee set up to advise and assist the Premier of British Columbia on growing high technology industries. He is also past Chairman of BC Biotech, the Biotechnology Trade Association for British Columbia. His industry experience extends from early stage product development through to international marketing.
