Gerard Puorro – Candela Corporation (clzr)

GERARD E. PUORRO, Candela Corporation's President and Chief Executive Officer, has overall responsibility for the leadership and direction of Candela, with specific responsibility for the corporation's strategic direction, growth and return on investment. Mr. Puorro joined Candela in April 1989 as the corporation's Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In 1991 he was appointed Treasurer, in 1992 Chief Operating Officer, and in 1993 to his current position. In addition, he was appointed a Director of Candela in 1991. Immediately prior to joining Candela Corporation and since 1982, Mr. Puorro served as Vice President and Controller at Massachusetts Computer Corporation, a manufacturer of micro-supercomputers, where he helped guide the company from infancy to revenues of $75 million in 1988. Earlier in his career, he held numerous executive management positions at Data Terminal Systems, Inc., and at Honeywell Information Systems, Inc. Mr. Puorro is a graduate of Bentley College, Waltham, Massachusetts. Mr. Puorro is an active member in his community. He is a Special Olympics coach and is President of the Board of Trustees for the Deaf Community Center in his hometown of Framingham, Massachusetts. He is also a member of the President's Commission on Americans with Disabilities, and the Massachusetts Governor's Commission for Employment of Individuals with Disabilities. Profile
