GARY A. LYONS is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. He has more than 25 years of
management experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical
industries. Prior to joining Neurocrine in 1992 Mr. Lyons led
Neurocrine from a research-based organization into a development
company with seven products in the clinic, four major
pharmaceutical partners and a strong cash position with
approximately $415 million in raised and committed capital. He
implemented a business strategy at Neurocrine focused on
generating multiple product opportunities with accelerated times
to commercialization through partnering, in-licensing clinical-
stage compounds and maintaining a research pipeline positioned to
