GARY G. HEGNA joined Smith-Gardner in April of 1996 as President,
Director and Chief Executive Officer, and was appointed Chairman in
February of 2000. Mr. Hegna additionally serves as Chairman of both
Smith-Gardner UK and Smith-Gardner Australia. Mr. Hegna joined Smith-
Gardner after four years as Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer of OpenConnect Systems, Inc., a software company providing
solutions that Web-enable enterprise systems. Previously, Mr. Hegna held
assignments including a five-year tenure as President and Chief
Executive Officer of ICL North America, a Dallas-based manufacturer of
computer systems and telecommunications equipment. Mr. Hegna has also
served in various management and executive roles for Xerox Corporation,
Data General Corporation, Prime Computer Incorporated and Encore
