Amr Abdelmonem – Isco International Inc (iso)

DR. AMR ABDELMONEM is the Chief Executive Officer of ISCO International, Inc. Dr. Abdelmonem joined ISCO in 1995 to direct the design and implementation of the first successful worldwide field trial of a superconductor filter in a cellular base station. He was promoted to Director of Engineering in August 1998, to Vice President of Development Engineering in March 1999, to Chief Technology Officer in December 1999, and finally to Chief Executive Officer in June 2002. He was responsible for defining the optimal direction of the technology and strategic partnership efforts with major OEM wireless equipment providers. Dr. Abdelmonem assisted in the acquisition of Spectral Solution Inc. and the ANF business unit from Lockheed Martin Canada during 2000. Dr. Abdelmonem started his career with Exxon Corporation in Egypt. Subsequently, Dr. Abdelmonem held teaching positions at Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and at the University of Maryland. During that time the majority of his research focused on superconducting technology, advanced filter design, semi-conductor laser design and optical communication. Dr. Abdelmonem earned his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Egypt, and his PhD from the University of Maryland. Dr. Abdelmonem holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is an IEEE Senior Member (elected at the age of 31) and has published numerous papers for industry conferences and trade journals.
