KEITH BAILEY was named President of Williams in January 1992, and
effective January 1, 1994, he was named CEO; in May 1994, he was also
named Chairman of the Board. Previous to January 1992, Bailey served as
Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration for Williams (June
1986-January 1992); prior to that he served as President of Williams
Natural Gas Company (1983-1986) and also served as President of Williams
Pipe Line Company (1979-1983). Bailey served for ten years with another
pipeline company before joining Williams in 1973 as assistant to the
V.P. of Operations at Williams Pipe Line Company. Keith Bailey is a 1964
mechanical engineering graduate of the Missouri School of Mines and
Metallurgy (now the University of Missouri-Rolla or UMR). In 1978, he
completed the Harvard University Program for Management Development. He
received a professional degree in mechanical engineering from UMR in
1981 and also received an honorary Doctor of Engineering Degree from UMR
in May 1994. In 1991, Bailey was inducted into the MSM/UMR Athletic Hall
of Fame; and in October 1993, he was inducted into Oklahoma State
University’s Hall of Fame for Engineering, Architecture, and Technology.
Bailey was also inducted into the State of Oklahoma Hall of Fame in
November 1996; and in February 1998, he was inducted into the University
of Tulsa’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Hall of Fame. As
a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma, Bailey is a member of
the National Society of Professional Engineers, Oklahoma Society of
Professional Engineers, and was selected as its Outstanding Engineer in
Management in 1989. He serves on the boards of the American Petroleum
Institute (API) and the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America
(INGAA); he is a member of the Business Roundtable and serves on their
Education Task Force; and he also serves on the boards of Apco Argentina
and the National Alliance of Business. He served as a member of the
Board of Directors of Bank of Oklahoma, N.A. during the mid-90’s. Bailey
is a former campaign Chair and Board Chair of the Tulsa Area United Way;
he is a member of United Way of America’s Board of Governors and held
the position of Chairman during 1995-96; he also serves on the National
Advisory Board of The Salvation Army. Bailey served as the Chairman of
the Board of Trustees at The University of Tulsa during the 1995-96 and
1996-97 academic years; and he is also a member of the Board of Trustees
at the University of Missouri-Rolla where he has served as Chairman of
the Order of the Golden Shillelagh. Bailey served as Board Chairman for
the Philbrook Museum of Art during 1995. Keith Bailey was born April 5,
1942. He and his wife, Pat, reside in Tulsa.
