JOHN MAJOR has served as Novatel Wireless Inc.’s Chairman of the Board
and Chief Executive Officer since July 2000. From November 1999 until
July 2000, Mr. Major was Chief Executive Officer of Wireless Internet
Solutions Group, a strategic consulting services firm. From November
1998 to November 1999, Mr. Major was President and Chief Executive
Officer of WirelessKnowledge, a joint venture between Microsoft
Corporation, a software and Internet technology company, and QUALCOMM,
Incorporated, a digital wireless communications company. From May 1997
to November 1998, he was an Executive Vice-President of QUALCOMM and
served as President of QUALCOMM Infrastructure Products Division. From
1977 until he joined QUALCOMM in May 1997, Mr. Major held a number of
executive positions at Motorola, Inc., a communications and electronics
company, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Technical
Officer. Mr. Major currently serves on the Boards of Directors of
Littelfuse Corporation, a circuit protection technology company;
Verilink, an intelligent edge connection wireline modem company;
Identix, Inc., an identification technology company; Advanced Remote
Communications Solutions, Inc., a communications systems company; and
Lennox Corporation, an HVAC products company. He also serves on the
Board of Directors’ Executive Committee for the Telecommunications
Industry Association and the Electronics Industry Association. Mr. Major
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Master of Science
degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He
also holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with distinction,
from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University.
