John M. Van Brunt

JOHN M. VAN BRUNT is Vice Chairman and CEO of Agrium Inc. (formerly
known as Cominco Fertilizers Ltd.) since the company was spun off by
Cominco Ltd. and listed as a public company in 1993. A graduate of
Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he earned a degree in
Chemical Engineering, Mr. Van Brunt joined Cominco in 1965 and has spent
his entire career with the Cominco/Agrium organization. His assignments
included increasingly responsible managerial positions in various
company facilities in Trail, British Columbia; Vancouver, British
Columbia; Vanscoy, Saskatchewan; Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and
Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Van Brunt is a Director of Agrium Inc.; President
of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA); Director and
Past Chairman of Canpotex Ltd.; Director and Past Chairman of The Potash
& Phosphate Institute (PPI) in the United States and Director and
Chairman of The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) also in the United States. He
is also Past Chairman of The Canadian Fertilizers Institute (CFI); and
Past Chairman of the Foundation of Agronomic Research (FAR).
