John J. Steele

JOHN J. STEELE joined Werner Enterprises, Inc. in 1989 as Controller. He
was elected Secretary in 1992; Vice President, Controller and Secretary
in 1994; and Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer in
November 1996. Mr. Steele is a Certified Public Accountant and was
employed by the firm of Arthur Andersen & Co., independent public
accountants from 1979 until his employment with the Company.
