Jean-Pierre Ergas

JEAN-PIERRE ERGAS has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since
January 1, 2000 and has served as a Director since 1995. Prior to
assuming the position of CEO of BWAY Corporation, Mr. Ergas served as
Executive Vice President, Europe of Alcan Aluminum Ltd. Prior to his
employment with Alcan he served in a number of senior positions within
the packaging industry including Executive Vice President of Pechiney
S.A. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American National Can
Company. In his brief time with BWAY Corporation, Mr. Ergas has
implemented a number of significant changes and initiatives designed to
improve the financial position of the company, starting with a
significant $20 million debt reduction in the first nine months of
tenure.
