James B. Boyd

JAMES B. BOYD is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer of
ESS Technology, Inc. He was appointed chief financial officer in July
2000. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in key financial
positions. Most recently, Mr. Boyd served as chief financial officer of
Gatefield Corporation, a Fremont-based manufacturer of electronic
circuits used in PCs and consumer electronics. Prior to that, he was
chief financial officer of AriMedia, a developer of wireless
communications software. He has also held senior management positions at
Farallon Communications, Fritz Companies, GTE Sprint and Southern
Pacific. Mr. Boyd has an undergraduate degree in accounting and an MBA
in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a JD from
Golden Gate University.
