J. William Freytag

J. WILLIAM FREYTAG is President and CEO of Myogen, Inc., a
development-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Denver,
Colorado. Dr. Freytag has 20 years of experience in executive
management, research and development, business development and
strategic planning in the healthcare industry. Dr. Freytag has
participated in more than a dozen mergers and acquisitions as
well as public and private financings raising more than $150
million. Dr. Freytag’s career has included experience in both
large (DuPont and Boehringer Mannheim Corporation) and early-
stage (Somatogen, Inc.) healthcare companies. Dr. Freytag is
currently a member of the Board of Directors of BioStratum
Incorporated, Ischemia Technologies, Inc., and Immunicon
Incorporated, all private biotechnology companies. Dr. Freytag is
also a member of the Executive Board for the Colorado
Biotechnology Association. Dr. Freytag received his PhD in 1978
in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
