Hubertus Erlen

HUBERTUS ERLEN has been Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of
Schering AG since April 26, 2001. He has been a Member of the Board
since 1985 with special responsibility for the North America region,
Production and Corporate Human Resources. During his career at Schering
AG Dr. Erlen has held various positions. He joined Schering in 1972 in
pharmaceutical manufacturing and later became Head of the Central Office
of the Board, Site Manager and Member of the Divisional Board of the
Electroplating Division. Dr. Erlen has several responsibilities in
supervisory and advisory boards and cultural institutions. He obtained a
Doctorate in Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin.
