Greg Owens, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manugistics Group,
Inc., has engineered the company’s turnaround from a supply chain
management provider into an e-commerce B2B leader in direct materials
and e-infrastructure. Since joining the company in April 1999, Mr. Owens
has supported aggressive investments in strengthening and growing
Manugistics’ sales organization, in marketing initiatives and in
technology innovation, helping to double the company’s license fees
within only one year. Now the Web-based innovations that he has
championed are driving profitable growth at seven out of 10 Fortune 500
manufacturing companies. Mr. Owens is the former Global Managing Partner
for the Andersen Consulting Supply Chain Management Practice, which,
with revenues in excess of $1.4 billion, represents the world’s largest
supply chain consulting practice. He joined Andersen Consulting in 1990
and became a partner in 1993. Mr. Owens had global profit and loss
responsibility for the rapidly growing supply chain consulting practice,
which has shown growth in recent periods in excess of 40% a year. At
Andersen, Mr. Owens had an extensive client list of Fortune 500 client
companies. Prior to joining Andersen Consulting, Mr. Owens worked for
Garr Consulting, specializing in distribution, transportation, and
warehousing consulting. He was promoted to the role of Executive Vice
President at the age of 29. Mr. Owens graduated from the Georgia
Institute of Technology in 1982, where he earned a Bachelor’s of science
degree in Industrial Management. Mr. Owens is an active member of the
supply chain and logistics management communities and plays a prominent
role in the Council of Logistics Management, the National Retail
Federation, and the International Mass Retail Association.
