Giampaolo Trasi

GIAMPAOLO TRASI was born in Rome in 1960. He graduated magna cum laude
in Economics in 1983 in the University of Rome and got a Master in
Business Administration at Scuola Amministrazione Aziendale in Turin in
1996. He is an ordinary member of AIAF (Italian Association of Financial
Analysts) and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has worked with the
IMI Group since the beginning of his career, first as an analyst for the
industrial financing in Rome and then as an equity analyst for Imi
Sigeco since 1987 in Milan. He has been an analyst for the Italian
Automotive sector during the last ten years, including Fiat and Pirelli
among his main coverages. He has also covered the cement and
construction sector and some Italian holding companies. He has been
appointed Head of the Italian Research Team in 1995 and today he
coordinates a group of 9 equity analysts and two macroeconomists.
Giampaolo Trasi acts as country strategist for the Italian Stock Market,
assessing market prospects and Index targets in his publication "Italian
Investment Strategy." In recent years, he spoke in various conferences
(Italian privatisation; Value Creation). During the last 12 months, IMI
Sigeco Research Department has extensively applied the Economic Value
Added model to the major Italian listed companies (see the publication:
Value Creation in Italy, March 1997), deriving it from the experience of
Stern-Stewart in Us. IMI Sigeco Research team ranked 2nd in 1997,
according to Institutional Investors and Euromoney, in the Italian
Research ranking. It has also been awarded the Leonardo d’Oro (best
research team among Italian houses) in 1997. He is married and has two
daughters.
