George I. Boyadjieff

GEORGE I. BOYADJIEFF is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and a
Director of Varco International, Inc. He is an inventor with over 50 US
patents to his credit. Mr. Boyadjieff is considered to be the leading
developer of surface drilling equipment during the last 25 years. He is
most noted for his development of the Top Drive Drilling System. He
holds a BSME and an MSME from the University of California at Berkeley
and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of California. He
has published numerous technical papers and made many technical
presentations throughout the world. He was selected as a Society of
Petroleum Engineers Distinguished Lecturer for 1990-1991. Mr. Boyadjieff
is a Director of the National Ocean Industries Association, and the
Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association. He is a member of the Society
of Petroleum Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers,
American Petroleum Institute, Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association
and International Association of Drilling Contractors. He has actively
served on several committees associated with these organizations.
