Gary Thayer

GARY THAYER is Vice President and Chief Economist at A.G. Edwards &
Sons, Inc. He joined the firm in 1986 as a foreign currency, energy and
interest rate Futures Analyst. He served for nearly 10 years as the
firm’s Senior Economist before assuming his current position in 1999.
Previously, Mr. Thayer was a Portfolio Manager and Bond Trader at a
major midwestern bank and served as a Market Analyst at a commodities
brokerage in St. Louis. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political
Science from the University of Akron and Master’s degrees in Economics
from the University of Akron and Washington University in St. Louis.
