G. Michael Newman

G. MICHAEL NEWMAN is Chief Executive Officer of InterRent Real Estate Investment
Trust. InterRent was started by Mr. Newman in 1997 to acquire small, multi-unit
residential properties, mainly in the Parkdale neighborhood of the Greater
Toronto Area. Prior to starting InterRent, Mr. Newman was Managing Director of
two small, family owned investment/merchant banks, as well as having been
involved in ownership and management roles in a number of private and public
companies in the electronics and telecommunications industries. InterRent became
a publicly traded company in 1999, converted to a REIT structure in 2006 and has
its units listed on the TSX. It currently owns and manages 4,007 suites in
multi-residential buildings in communities across Ontario, from Ottawa in the
east to Sault Ste. Marie in the north, and Sarnia in the west. Mr. Newman also
serves on the Board of Directors of a number of publicly traded companies.
