GEORGE SZTYKIEL, the original Founder of Spartan Motors, Inc., serves as
the company's Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. He and
over 500 Spartan Chassis associates are proud to be celebrating their
26th anniversary of service to the emergency vehicle industry this year.
Mr. Sztykiel started Spartan after his last employer, Diamond Reo
Trucks, went bankrupt in 1975. He served as an Engineer with Diamond Reo
and before that worked 19 years at Chrysler. Mr. Sztykiel and his three
original co-Founders built their first chassis in a commercial garage.
Even though Mr. Sztykiel has turned over the reins of the day'to'day
operations to his son, John Sztykiel, President and COO, he remains a
very active Chairman of the Board, and shares his past wisdom with the
500 plus Spartan associates daily. Profile
