John M. Thornton

JOHN M. THORNTON is Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Mitek Systems, Inc. In 1957, Mr. Thornton started his
business career at Rohr Corporation. In 1965 he became President
of Wavetek and later Chairman of the Board. Mr. Thornton was
Chairman and President of Wavetek Corporation for 18 years. From
1976 through 1988, Mr. Thornton served as Chairman and Vice
Chairman of the Board at Micom Systems, Inc. Mr. Thornton has
been a director of Mitek Systems since March 1986 and was
appointed Chairman of the Board in October 1987. Additionally, he
has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief
Financial Officer since September 1998. Previously, he served as
President of the company from May 1991 through July 1991 and
Chief Executive Officer from May 1991 through February 1992. Mr.
Thornton is also Chairman of the Board of Thornton Winery
Corporation.
