Jeffrey Stone

JEFFREY STONE is President and Chief Executive Officer of Tweeter Home
Entertainment Group. He came to Tweeter with years of specialty retail
experience that began in the furniture industry. He started his career
at Levitz Furniture in Dedham, Massachusetts, and in 1984 Mr. Stone
moved to Scandinavian Design, a Massachusetts-based upscale furniture
chain, where he served first as Human Resources Manager and then Vice
President of Human Resources and Training. Recruited by Bread & Circus,
a highly regarded specialty natural foods supermarket chain, Mr. Stone
became their Vice President of Human Resources/Training in 1987, and was
charged with developing a professional management group in a company
that had become an emerging enterprise. Later that year he became
Executive Vice President, responsible for overseeing the business and a
key contributor in the health food chain’s rapid growth and success. In
1990 Tweeter Home Entertainment Group’s Board of Directors was looking
for a new President and chose Mr. Stone to fill the position. Mr. Stone
took on the role of CEO in January 1999. As President and CEO, he has
been instrumental in managing the company’s enormous growth over the
past 10 years as the chain has grown from 13 stores in three New England
states in 1990 to its present day total of 152 stores in 19 states. He
has been responsible, with partner Sandy Bloomberg, for the company’s
strategic direction and overseeing the company’s successful operations,
which will surpass a half billion dollars in sales in 2001. He received
his BA in Business from Upsala College, New Jersey. Mr. Stone serves as
President of his church’s congregation, sits on the Board of Advisors
for two small companies and is active in three local charitable
organizations.
