Garret Moddel

GARRET MODDEL is a founder of Phiar Corporation and serves as its
president and CEO. Prior to taking the helm at Phiar, he worked for
sixteen years as professor of electrical engineering at the University
of Colorado. Dr. Moddel consulted to optoelectronics and thin-film
technology companies across the country, including start-ups and large
corporations. For the first four years of his professional career he
worked as a founding employee of SERA Solar, a Silicon Valley start-up
company. He is an inventor on over 20 US and international patents, has
co-authored over 120 technical publications, and is a fellow of the
Optical Society of America. Dr. Moddel earned a BSEE degree from
Stanford and MS and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Physics from Harvard.
