Frederick A. Landman

FREDERICK A. LANDMAN is President and Chief Executive Officer of
PanAmSat Corporation. Mr. Landman directs the company’s global
operations, including strategic development, sales, marketing,
international regulatory affairs and financial issues associated with
PanAmSat’s global satellite services business. Mr. Landman has served in
his current position since PanAmSat’s inception in May 1997, following
the completion of the previous PanAmSat’s merger with the Galaxy
Satellite Services division of Hughes Communications, Inc. Mr. Landman
formerly had served as president of the previous PanAmSat Corporation
since that company’s founding in 1984. In that position, he orchestrated
the company’s ambitious business strategy, which enabled PanAmSat to
become the world’s first commercial company to provide global satellite
services. Mr. Landman has been a long-time and outspoken advocate of
fair and open competition in the international satellite communications
marketplace. Prior to joining PanAmSat, Mr. Landman served as executive
vice president of the Spanish International Network (SIN) in charge of
Galavision, Inc., the United States’ first Spanish-language pay
television service. In that position, he led SIN to become the first
commercial television network to use a satellite for program
distribution. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Landman is a 1970
graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Philosophy.
