DR JOHN BROWN is the Chief Executive of Peptide Therapeutics Group Plc.
He earned a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh in 1981
and then joined Glaxo Group Research where he led a team developing
neuropeptide antagonists. In 1986, he was recruited by PA Consulting
Group where he established a group providing specialist consultancy to
pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In 1991, he joined Bell
Lawrie & Co as a pharmaceutical analyst and in 1993, he moved to
Sutherlands, the Edinburgh stockbroker, as Head of Research. In 1995,
he joined Peptide Therapeutics Group Plc as Finance Director. During
1995, Peptide successfully completed several rounds of private financing
and an IPO which listed the shares on the London Stock Exchange. He was
appointed Chief Executive in March 1997. From 1995 to 1997, he served
as Chairman of the BIA Finance Advisory Committee. Profile
