JOHN BISHOP became Cepheid's Chief Executive Officer in April 2002.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Bishop was the President and Chief
Executive Officer of Vysis, Inc., a genomic disease management company.
Mr. Bishop created Vysis from assets of Amoco Technology Company, taking
it public in 1998 at $12.50 per share and selling it to Abbott
Laboratories in December 2001 for $30.50 per share. Mr. Bishop has over
25 years of domestic and international experience in developing and
commercializing innovative technologies in the biotech and diagnostic
business fields. Prior to Vysis, Mr. Bishop held positions as the
Chairman and CEO of MicroProbe Corp., President and COO of GenProbe Inc.
