John O’connell – Staffware Plc (stw.l)

JOHN O'CONNELL is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the London Stock Exchange-listed Staffware Plc, which he co-founded in 1980. Mr. O'Connell is a Certified Accountant and has been in the computing industry for approximately 25 years. In 1980, in the UK, he co-founded Financial & Corporate Modelling Consultants-FCMC ' since renamed Staffware Plc. FCMC developed and marketed financial planning and group accounts consolidation software. He was also responsible for helping develop 'procedure processing software,' the forerunner of workflow automation in the 1980s. Since then he has directed the worldwide expansion of Staffware's business with offices in 16 countries employing 334 staff. He is a past Chairman of the Washington, DC-based Association of Information and Image Management, the world's largest trade association in document management technologies. Mr. O'Connell has recently been recognized as one of Europe's top 500 entrepreneurs by the GrowthPlus organization. He is a frequent speaker on the subject of business process management and related business/management aspects of computing and running a computer software business.
