Guy Barker joined Old Mutual in June 2000 from National Westminster Life Assurance Company, one of Britains largest specialist bancassurers, where he started as Chief Financial Officer then became Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, Barker spent eight years as Chief Actuary of Jackson National Life in Lansing, Michigan. During his tenure as CEO of NatWest Life and its associated distribution company, NatWest Regulated Sales premiums from insurance products grew from under 1 billion pounds annually to in excess of 3 billion pounds, while expenses were reduced by over 30 million pounds.
