Hans Keirstead – Ability Biomedical Corporation

HANS S. KEIRSTEAD is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ability Biomedical Corporation and Assistant Professor at the Reeve-Irvine Research Center at the University of California, Irvine. He received his PhD from the University of British Columbia in Canada. His PhD thesis constituted the first demonstration of functional regeneration of the injured adult spinal cord, for which he received the Cameron Award for the outstanding PhD thesis in Canada. This work formed the basis of several issued worldwide patents as well as the formation of a company in 1999 which he founded and ran as CEO for 18 months prior to founding Ability Biomedical Corporation. He conducted post-doctoral studies at Cambridge University in England concerning spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis. ANDREW J. RAE is Chief Financial Officer of Ability Biomedical Corporation. He has a decade of experience in the biotechnology field, most recently raising $15 million in venture funding as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Affairs, Active Pass Pharmaceuticals Inc.
