GARRETT A. GARRETTSON joined Spectrian Corp. in 1996 as President and
Chief Executive Officer. Since that time, he has installed a new
management team, expanded the product lines and the customer base,
tripled revenues, improved the company's financial performance and
balance sheet, strengthened the engineering teams, improved product
development processes and refined the corporate strategy. Prior to that,
Mr. Garrettson spent three years as President and Chief Executive
Officer for Censtor Corporation, a developer of magnetic recording
technology for the disk drive industry. He raised venture funding to
complete product development and prototype manufacturing, and sold the
operation to a larger corporation for continued product and technology
development. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Garrettson was Vice President of
strategic marketing and technology development for Seagate Technology in
Scotts Valley, CA. In this role, Mr. Garrettson was responsible for
business development, product planning and strategy, and managing
several research and development groups. Previous to that, he was
General Manager of Seagate's Minneapolis Data Storage Operation,
acquired from Control Data Corporation in 1989. Prior to the
acquisition, he also spent three years as Vice President in various
technical and general management assignments at the Minneapolis Data
Storage Operations of Imprimis Technology, then a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Control Data Corporation. During his tenure there, he
engineered a turnaround of the company's high-performance disk drive
operation. Prior to 1986, he spent 13 years at Hewlett-Packard in
various technical management positions after serving four years in the
United States Navy. Mr. Garrettson currently serves as a Director of
Benton Oil and Gas Company and Spectrian. He earned Bachelor of Science
and Master of Science degrees in Engineering Physics, and a Ph.D. in
Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Profile
