STEPHEN R. ADAMS is Managing Director of First Security Van Kasper, a
non-banking affiliate of Wells Fargo Corp., and Van Kasper Advisers. He
has spent over 30 years as a Stockbroker and Financial Analyst in San
Francisco. In 1978, he and four other brokers founded Van Kasper & Co.
Van Kasper is a regional investment banking and private brokerage firm
focusing on the western US economy. Mr. Adams is the Author of many
articles on investing, and since 1987 has published a quarterly
