Richard A. Horowitz – P & F Industries Inc (pfina)

RICHARD A. HOROWITZ is Chairman and CEO of P&F Industries, Inc. He is a graduate of both The American University in Washington, DC and New York University, in New York City and completed undergraduate studies at American University, earning a B.S.B.A. (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration), and then completed his graduate studies at N.Y.U., earning an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) in Management Sciences. After graduating from NYU, Mr. Horowitz was employed by Embassy Industries, Inc., and, in 1975, became its Assistant Vice President. After a management restructuring in 1976, he became Embassy's President and helped the company grow over the next 10 years, from $2 million to $11 million in revenues, with new products and a growing customer base. In 1981, he became Vice President of P & F Industries, Inc., the parent company of Embassy Industries, Inc., a publicly traded company. In 1986, he was named President and Chief Operating Officer of P&F and became its Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer in 1995. P & F currently has revenues exceeding $50 million. In his private life, Mr. Horowitz devotes a large amount of time to charity work. He is a board member of the Schneider Children's Hospital, having served as President of its Men's Division from 1980 to 1983. He was honored by this organization (as 'Man of the Year,') in 1984, raising over $1,200,000 for this most worthwhile cause. Also he is a Trustee of both Long Island Jewish and North Shore University Hospitals. Mr. Horowitz is active in AIPAC, a Pro-Israel lobbying group in Washington, D.C., as well as with United Jewish Appeal, both locally and regionally. In 1989, he was honored by U.J.A. within my industry for helping to promote Jewish causes. From 1980 to 1985, he served as a board member of the industry association, The Hydronics Institute. Mr. Horowitz has also served on the Board of Governors of The Glen Oaks Club, in Old Westbury, New York, since 1990, and is currently President of the well-regarded country club. Profile
