Kirk K. Mandy – Mitel Corporation (mlt)

KIRK K. MANDY was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitel Corporation on July 23, 1998. He joined Mitel in 1984 and held a number of successively more responsible positions in manufacturing, product operations and research and development, until his appointment seven years later as Vice President and General Manager of the Mitel Semiconductor division. In that capacity, Mr. Mandy led the business to grow aggressively during the following six years to become one of Canada's largest and most profitable global semiconductor operations. Prior to his most recent appointment and since 1977, he was the Vice President and General Manager of Mitel's largest business unit, Business Communications Systems, with international operations, mostly concentrated in the United States and the United Kingdom, one of the leading suppliers of convergent voice and data network solutions to enterprises. Mr. Mandy graduated from Algonquin College in 1976 and was involved in the data communications and telecommunications industries during the past 22 years with GTE, Gandalf and Bymanics prior to joining Mitel.
