KEITH S. HYNES has served as Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of Max Re Capital Ltd., a Bermuda reinsurer (Max Re),
since September 1999. Mr. Hynes is a co-Founder of Max Re, which was
capitalized in December 1999 and began operations in January 2000. He
managed Max Re's successful IPO in August 2001. From 1994 to 1999, Mr.
Hynes held various senior management positions at RenaissanceRe Holdings
Ltd., a Bermuda reinsurer and insurer that he co-capitalized
(RenaissanceRe), and certain of its subsidiaries. For RenaissanceRe, Mr.
Hynes acted as Executive Vice President ' Primary Operations from August
1997 to April 1999 and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
from 1994 to August 1997. For RenaissanceRe's subsidiary, Renaissance US
Holdings, he acted as President and Chief Executive Officer from June
1998 to April 1999 and Chief Executive Officer of Nobel Insurance
Company from October 1998 to April 1999, respectively. Prior to joining
RenaissanceRe, Mr. Hynes held various positions at Hartford Steam Boiler
Inspection and Insurance Co., a Connecticut insurance company, from 1983
to 1994, including the position of Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer from 1992 to 1994. From 1978 to 1983, he held various
positions, including Assistant Vice President, at Aetna Life and
Casualty Company. Mr. Hynes received his BS, summa cum laude, in
Mathematics in 1974 from the State University of New York at Albany,
where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his MBA, highest
distinction, in 1978 from the Amos Tuck School of Business
Administration, where he was named a Tuck Scholar. Mr. Hynes holds the
