Alan Gaines – Dune Energy Inc (deng)

ALAN GAINES, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dune Energy, Inc., was the co-founder of Gaines, Berland Inc., a full service brokerage firm and investment bank specializing in global energy markets, with particular emphasis on small to mid-capitalization exploration and production, pipeline, midstream and oil services companies. He served as President of Gaines, Berland from 1983 to 1998, when he sold his interest in the company. Gaines, Berland managed or co-managed and participated in some $4 billion of equity and debt financings in the three years prior to the sale. He acted as chief advisor to financier Carl Icahn during such noteworthy corporate takeovers as USX Corporation (Marathon Oil) and Texaco. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Gaines served as President and CEO of Proton Capital LLC, a privately held merchant and investment bank. He holds a BBA in Finance from Baruch College, and a MBA from the Zarb School, Hofstra University School of Management. Profile
