Dr. Euan S. Thomson, Ph.D., has served as Accuray, Inc.'s President and Chief Executive Officer since joining the company in 2002. Dr. Thomson brings an array of industry experience to Accuray from previously held leadership positions at Photoelectron Corporation, Varian Oncology Systems, Radionics, Inc., and United Kingdom National Health Service. Dr. Thomson is the recipient of the 2009 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and the 2008 ABBY Award from the Adaptive Business Leaders Organization for his innovation in biotechnology. Additionally, he currently serves on the board of directors for the Hospice of the Valley, a hospice facility serving individuals with life-limiting illnesses, in San Jose, Calif. Prior to his business career, Dr. Thomson spent 15 years conducting research and cancer treatments in the U.K. Dr. Thomson holds a B.S. in physics, an M.S. in radiation physics and a Ph.D. in physics with an emphasis on stereotactic brain radiotherapy, all earned from the University of London.
