Herv Gallaire

HERV GALLAIRE is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology
Officer of Xerox Corporation and Xerox Innovation Group. Mr.
Gallaire became President of the Xerox Innovation Group for Xerox
Corporation, Stamford, Connecticut, in October 2001. He was named
a Corporate Senior Vice President in December 1999. Mr. Gallaire,
as Xerox’s Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for
maximizing the company’s billion-dollar annual investment in
research and development. He is in charge of worldwide research
and technology organizations, intellectual property management
and licensing, and several technology companies in the Xerox
portfolio. He joined Xerox in 1992 and managed the Xerox Research
Centre Europe in Grenoble, France, from 1993 to 1998. He became
Chief Architect of the corporation and Vice President of the
Xerox Architecture Center. Most recently, he was Senior Vice
President for Xerox Research and Technology. Before joining
Xerox, Mr. Gallaire headed the department of Mathematics and
Computer Science at l’cole Nationale Suprieure de l’Aronautique
et de l’Espace in France. Mr. Gallaire holds a Master of Science
degree and a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from cole Nationale
Suprieure des Arts et Mtiers in France. He received the first
distinguished alumnus award from Berkeley’s EECS department and
was elected a founding member of France’s Acadmie des
technologies.
