Jim A. Wright

DR. Jim A. Wright was a co-Founder of GeneSense Technologies Inc. with
Dr. Young, and at various times he has served as a member of the Board,
Chairman of the Board, Corporate Secretary, President and Chief
Scientific Officer of the company. Dr. Wright is recognized
internationally for his work in cancer biology. He has been Professor of
Microbiology in the Faculty of Science, Professor of Biochemistry and
Molecular Biology in the Faculty of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of
Internal Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of
Manitoba. He has also been Senior Scientist of the Manitoba Institute of
Cell Biology, Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation and has
served as the Associate Director and also the Acting Director of the
Manitoba Institute of Cell Biology, Manitoba Cancer Treatment and
Research Foundation. Dr. Wright has been a Terry Fox Scientist, a
Senior Scientist of the National Cancer Institute of Canada and up until
recently he has been a Terry Fox Senior Scientist of the National Cancer
Institute of Canada. Dr. Wright has published more than 180 scientific
papers and has co-authored numerous patent applications. He has served
as an advisor for various journals, agencies and companies, including
for example the scientific advisory bodies of The Cancer Journal and The
International Journal of Oncology, The Medical Research Council of
Canada, National Cancer Institute of Canada, Natural Sciences and
Engineering Research Council of Canada, Manitoba Health and Research
Council (e.g. Grants and Scholarship Applications Panel, University-
Industry Panel), Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (e.g.,
Chairman of the Establishment Grant Applications Panel), Scientific
Advisory Board of Genesys Pharma, Inc., the Western Economic Development
Board of the Federal Government for Biotechnology Development, member of
the Boards of Directors of AltaRex Corporation and of NuChem
Pharmaceuticals Inc.
