Dana Shertz

DANA SHERTZ is President and Chief Operating Officer of MacGregor
Golf Company. Mr. Shertz joined MacGregor Golf in January 2002
and served as Senior Vice President of Sales until assuming the
role of President and Chief Operating Officer in August 2002. Mr.
Shertz continues to apply over 20 years of expert golf industry
experience to lead MacGregor Golf in achieving its goal of
becoming the number one brand in the world for avid golfers.
Previously, he spent 14 years in senior sales and executive
positions at Callaway Golf. Hired by Ely Callaway in 1987, Mr.
Shertz led the charge to bring the then newcomer to a position of
market leadership. While running the business’ Northern
California territory, he quickly became Callaway’s top revenue
producer for five consecutive years. His ability to consistently
deliver unprecedented results led him through a rapid rise in the
company’s ranks, eventually resulting in an appointment as
Callaway’s Vice President of Sales. As a leader of Callaway’s
sales force, he oversaw revenue growth from $200 million to $460
million annually. Mr. Shertz participated in product development
initiatives that led to the introduction of such notable products
as Great Big Bertha woods, Big Bertha irons and Odyssey White Hot
putters. He also led the Callaway accessories product line
business to triple its revenues from $10 million to $30 million
annually. A passionate entrepreneur, he founded and operated a
successful retail golf operation in Palm Springs, Dana’s Desert
Golf and Tennis, which was recognized for having the largest
selection of premium brand golf equipment and clothing. His
display of excellent business management, marketing, and sales
skills, propelled Desert Golf and Tennis to become a multi-
million dollar business and a leader in its market. Mr. Shertz
also brings a unique understanding of business financial
management. His experience includes positions with Morgan Stanley
Dean Witter where he grew a reputation for intensive client focus
and commitment to developing lasting and productive
relationships.
