Chris Thompson joined Raymond James & Associates, Inc. in September 2012 as a Mining Equity Research Analyst focusing on precious metals small-to-midcap developers and producers. Prior to joining Raymond James & Associates, Inc., Mr. Thompson worked for Haywood Securities for seven years covering small-to-midcap explorers, developers and producers. He also spent time as a geologist and mineral economist for junior exploration companies through to major mining companies. In 2011, Mr. Thompson was awarded the StarMine Top Analyst award for stock picker in the metals and mining sector. Mr. Thompson holds a Master of Science  in mineral economics, a graduate degree in mining engineering and a Bachelor of Science in mining and exploration geology from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He is also a registered professional geoscientist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia and a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
