C.K. Hong is Chairman and CEO of Netlist, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed semiconductor company based in Irvine, California, which he co-founded in 2000. Netlist is a leading provider of high-performance memory technology for servers and storage systems. The company supplies its products and solutions to major OEM customers, such as Dell, HP and IBM. Over the past 10 years, Netlist has compiled the industry’s largest portfolio of intellectual property around memory virtualization, a technology that is central to the emerging cloud computing infrastructure. Prior to Netlist, Mr. Hong served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Infinilink Corporation, a DSL equipment company, and as Executive Vice President of Viking Components, Inc., a memory subsystems manufacturer. Mr. Hong began his career with LG and, over a 15-year period, held various management positions at LG Electronics and LG Semicon, both in the U.S. and in Korea. Mr. Hong received his B.S. in economics from Virginia Commonwealth University, which he attended on a NCAA Division I soccer scholarship. He holds an M.S. in technology management from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Management.
