WILLIAM S. MEYER is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
American Greetings. Mr. Meyer's career with American Greetings began in
1982 when he joined Drawing Board Greeting Cards as Controller. When
American Greetings acquired Drawing Board in 1985, he became Director of
Finance for the renamed subsidiary, Carlton Cards. His promotions
include Vice President of Carlton Cards and Corporate Controller of
American Greetings. In October 1995, Mr. Meyer was promoted to his
current position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
During his time with American Greetings, he has spearheaded major
improvements within the Finance Division, guiding the company's
strategic planning process and providing analysis of new business
ventures. Before joining American Greetings, Mr. Meyer was a United
States Air Force Pilot and held positions with other consumer product
companies. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration from the University of Missouri in 1968. He is a
Certified Public Accountant and belongs to the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute. Profile
