THOMAS G. SNEAD, JR., is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive
Officer of Trigon Healthcare, Inc. He joined the company in 1985 as
Manager, Subsidiary Finance. He held the positions of Financial
Compliance Director, Accounting and Budget Director and Group Business
Financial Officer. Mr. Snead was appointed Senior Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer in 1990. He was elected President and Chief
Operating Officer in 1997. Mr. Snead was elected to Trigon's Board of
Directors and named President and Chief Executive Officer in 1999. In
2000 he was elected Chairman of the Board. Before joining the company,
he served on the staff of the public accounting firm KPMG LLP and was
the Financial Executive for several small firms in the Richmond area.
Mr. Snead was awarded a BS degree in Accounting with honors from the
Virginia Commonwealth University in 1976. Profile
